Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to edit code to install GhostChat on WordPress?
No. Install the official GhostChat plugin from the WordPress directory, paste your Site ID in Settings → GhostChat, and you're live. No code or theme editing required.
Does GhostChat work with WooCommerce?
Yes. The plugin automatically detects WooCommerce and sends agents real-time context — page type, product name, cart items, and totals. Available on Starter and up.
Will GhostChat slow down my WordPress site?
No. At ~15KB gzipped, GhostChat is up to 24x smaller than most WordPress chat plugins. It loads asynchronously after your content, so your page renders first.
Does it work with Elementor, Divi, and other page builders?
Yes. GhostChat works with all WordPress themes and page builders including Elementor, Divi, Astra, and Beaver Builder. It injects at the end of the page body without conflicts.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan supports 1 site with 30-day chat history. Starter is $5/month for 1-year history and business hours automation. Pro is $12/month for up to 5 sites with 3-year history, auto-translate, webhooks and the Bot Agent API. Team is $25/month for up to 10 team members with branding removal and unlimited history. The AI plan is $39/month and puts the assistant in front of visitors.
How does GhostChat compare to Tidio, Tawk.to, and Crisp on WordPress?
The biggest practical difference is widget weight. We measured it in August 2026: GhostChat transfers 18.9KB in total, Crisp 267KB and Tawk.to 462KB. That gap shows up directly in your PageSpeed score.
