Collaboration

Work on individual pages and sheets together with collaborators.

Inviting collaborators

Open a page or sheet you own and click the Collaborators button (people icon). Enter the email address of the person you want to invite. If they already have a cDox account, they get access right away and an email letting them know. If not, they get an email invite to create an account, and the page or sheet is waiting for them once they sign up with that address. Invites expire after 7 days.

Collaborators can view and edit the content. There are no permission levels: every collaborator has full read and write access.

Note

You can have up to 10 collaborators and pending invites per page or sheet.

Real-time presence

When other collaborators are online and viewing the same page or sheet, you'll see a small floating pill in the bottom-right corner with their avatars and a line like "Sam is editing". It's a simple way to know who's online right now without being intrusive.

Comments

Select text in a page and click the comment button in the toolbar to add a comment. The commented text gets a highlight with a dotted underline and an icon appears in the left margin.

You can reply to a comment to keep the discussion in one thread. Edit your own comments at any time. You can delete your own comments, and the page owner can delete any comment. When the discussion is done, Resolve the thread: the highlight goes away and the thread, replies included, is removed for good.

Note

Comments are available on pages only. Sheets don't support comments at this time.

Shared with me

Pages and sheets that other people share with you appear in the Shared With Me section in your dashboard sidebar. They don't count toward your storage.

You can leave a shared page or sheet at any time if you no longer want access. The owner can also remove you as a collaborator.

Note

A whole folder shared with you shows up here too, alongside individually shared pages and sheets. Folder sharing works a little differently. See Shared Folders.
