Our Work for Alice Inoue on Following Journeys
Why did you start working with Tasty Edits?
Alice Inoue: We wanted a partner to work on the show. We didn’t just want a vendor or someone to do our videos. We wanted someone or a company that would be engaged in what we do, and care about what we do.
My company needed some small videos done, so I went online trying to look for somebody that could do editing. I just didn’t know where to go because it was so new. So I found an article and it talked about multiple different companies. Yours seemed like the right one. So I did a couple of things with you and that was great.
And then when it was time to do something with the show, Following Journeys, I remember talking to you and just saying, “Hey, the show is coming up. What can you do?” And what was so comforting was the fact that you had a plan. But then to find out that you also have a YouTube management arm to your business, my god, that was the best thing ever for us. Because we had no clue what to do when it comes to that.
What do you appreciate most about the editors at Tasty Edits?
Alice Inoue: I am blown away by our editors. They’ve been true to our brand. Whenever there’s a needed change, you have created this really cool dashboard where you can just write in what we need.
We don’t have to email back and forth. It’s been so easy to make changes. I love that on Tasty Edits’ VOMA platform, you can actually go and see all the orders that have been completed. You can see what’s in draft. You can see what’s being edited.
And what’s really great about Tasty Edits’ editors is that they will message me through VOMA to keep me posted: “Okay, I got the order – I’m editing now.” So then I know when I need to check back, and they’ll have it done in a certain amount of time.
In the process, what was really important for us was our branding. We spent a lot of time and energy and resources on creating a brand. And it was so important for us to follow the brand manual through all of the things we do. And what was great was we did a couple samples, went back and forth until Tasty Edits got the brand right and then the process has been so easy.
It has been super fluid and effortless and I feel like the quality has been excellent.
How has your experience of working with Tasty Edits’ channel managers been?
Alice Inoue: Our channel manager is so responsive. I tell him what I need, or if I’m confused about things. He explains stuff. He makes me videos on how to do what needs to be done. He’s always so positive. He’s like, “We got this. You’re good.” He’s so encouraging – it has been great.
I also really appreciate him letting us know what YouTube’s plans for the future are. I really appreciate the forward-thinking part, saying: “This is going to happen on YouTube. This will be good for you. This is how we can use it.”
So, these kinds of things are really useful for us. The strategy our channel managers draw up is excellent. We might have an idea, but to be able to bounce it off of you guys and to come up with what would work best together has been great.
For example, I want to start making educational videos and I’m asking our channel manager what to do. He’s like, “Okay, light the green screen. You can do this. This is the ideal length.” Just giving me some parameters to work with to be successful. So, I have absolutely nothing to say that I think needs improvement. I think you’ve exceeded expectations!
