FILE ONLINE WITH THE SCC
OFFICE VISITS
The Office of the Clerk provides in-person service from 8:30-10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday (excluding scheduled closings) at the SCC's headquarters at 1300 East Main Street in downtown Richmond. Documents – both legal and business-related – may be dropped off with the Security Staff on the first floor anytime between 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Clerk’s Office Statement on Third-Party Solicitations
Alert: You may receive solicitations from companies offering to file your annual report, handle your annual registration fees that are currently due, or transact other business with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC). These companies may contact you by mail, email or even by text message – usually with Internet links or QR codes that will send you to the soliciting company’s website. Some of these solicitations may look like official notices or forms at first glance. These companies often charge an additional fee for their services, which may cost you more than if you filed directly with the SCC. Please be aware that these companies are not affiliated with, endorsed or used by the SCC. Additionally, all submissions to the SCC must meet filing requirements required by law. If a consumer chooses to employ a third-party service, submissions still must meet these requirements and use of a service does not guarantee that the SCC will accept a submission.
