Details

  • DeviceRead is a blocking function; when called, it communicates with the device and does not return until it has the data it needs.

Basic Examples  (2)

Open a demo device and read from it:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceOpen["RandomSignalDemo"]
Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead[%]

Read a particular parameter:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead[%%, "Integer"]

Read a parameter from a device of the "RandomSignalDemo" class:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead["RandomSignalDemo", "Integer"]

Read a list of parameters:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead["RandomSignalDemo", {"Real", "Integer"}]

Applications  (3)

Read a single frame from the default camera:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead["Camera"]

Close the connection to the camera:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceClose["Camera"]

Open a connection to a weather station device, configure it, and read in the ambient humidity:

Wolfram Language code: dev = DeviceOpen["TinkerForgeWeatherStation"]
Wolfram Language code: DeviceConfigure[dev, "BarometerBrickletUID" -> "hUi"];
Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead[dev, "Humidity"]

Close the device:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceClose[dev]

Configure pin 17 of a GPIO device, e.g. on Raspberry Pi, for reading and read the digital value on it:

Wolfram Language code: DeviceConfigure["GPIO", 17 -> "Input"];
Wolfram Language code: DeviceRead["GPIO", 17]
