Aeronautical Engineering student at College (Level 3 Extended Diploma, final year), also studying Maths and Physics A-level. Aiming for an engineering degree apprenticeship in aerospace, mechanical or embedded software.
I learn by building things — usually physics turned into a tool you can run. Recent placement with Williams in motorsport; the projects below I built in my own time to teach myself simulation and engineering computing.
| Project | What it does | Tech |
|---|---|---|
| Aircraft Performance Engine | Point-mass aircraft performance model — standard atmosphere, drag polar, rate of climb, ceilings, take-off & landing distance, Breguet range & endurance, V–n flight envelope, engine-out glide. Text reports, Matplotlib charts and an interactive slider simulator; five aircraft classes. | Python · NumPy · Matplotlib |
| Beam Design Optimiser | Structural optimisation — searches thousands of beam sections to find the lightest that meets deflection, yield safety-factor and mass limits under four load cases, then auto-generates a full engineering report. | Python · NumPy · Matplotlib |
Applied mechanics (bending, drag, standard atmosphere) · numerical methods (root-finding, 1-D optimisation, numerical integration, grid search) · clean modular Python and a CLI · documenting work so it can be checked · Git
Extending the performance engine feature-by-feature, and getting more of my coursework and side projects documented and public.
