Solution to synchronize video playback across multiple instances of mpv, VLC, MPC-HC, MPC-BE and mplayer2 over the Internet.
This is a personal build of Syncplay 1.7.7.4 for watching .strm libraries (Emby / Jellyfin / NAS pointers) together. It does not replace upstream Syncplay; the official project remains at https://github.com/Syncplay/syncplay.

- Shared playlist identity. mpv treats
.strmas a playlist and reports the inner HTTP URL as the current file. This build keeps the.strmfilename as the room identity for 25 seconds after open, so two people can each play their own NAS URL while staying on the same playlist item. Opening a new.strmalso ignores drifted room time during that window, so playback stays at 0 instead of jumping a few seconds forward. - Sidecar subtitles. Syncplay starts mpv with a bundled
strm-sidecars.lua(--scripts-append). Matching.srt/.assfiles next to the.strmare added only after the inner file has loaded. You do not need to change the mpv install. - Shared playlist clicks. Double-clicking a playlist item broadcasts the index to the room, so the other person also opens their matching
.strm. If they already show the same filename, a.strmis opened again instead of ignoring the click. - About dialog. Window title is

mpv 会把 .strm 展开成里面的 URL，Syncplay 会把它当成另一个文件，同名字幕也找不到。本 fork 做了两件事：房间里继续用 .strm 文件名（打开后 25 秒内完成绑定），启动 mpv 时带上内置脚本，从 .strm 所在目录加载同名字幕。打开新 .strm 时这段时间也不再用漂移后的房间进度去 seek，避免跳到大约 3 秒。双击播放列表会通知房间里的人一起打开对应文件。服务端不用改。
Windows 安装包请到本仓库 Releases 下载。推荐 64 位便携包 Syncplay_1.7.7.4_x64_Portable；也可以用 Syncplay-1.7.7.4-x64-Setup.exe。不用去 Actions 里找。
Syncplay synchronises the position and play state of multiple media players so that the viewers can watch the same thing at the same time. This means that when one person pauses/unpauses playback or seeks (jumps position) within their media player then this will be replicated across all media players connected to the same server and in the same 'room' (viewing session). When a new person joins they will also be synchronised. Syncplay also includes text-based chat so you can discuss a video as you watch it (or you could use third-party Voice over IP software to talk over a video).
Syncplay is not a file sharing service.
This project, the Syncplay released binaries, and all the files included in this repository unless stated otherwise in the header of the file, are licensed under the Apache License, version 2.0.
