This addresses Issue #197.

  • Review changes
  • Confirm correct rendering of new content as seen through GH web interace
  • Confirm all actions passing

This change to the release procedure is clear and adds an important step that keeps the software page up-to-date.

Why is this going to main instead of develop?

@wildsm My goal is to get this change into both main and develop so that both are synchronized in terms of this addition. Since develop contains changes to version numbers that I don't want in main, I will first fix main with this PR and then merge main into develop.

Is this an acceptable plan for "hot fixes" on main?

- Update if necessary the list of software in framework and all software descriptions to match contents of new release.

I'm a bit confused about what is meant by "framework".
Presumably it is not https://bandframework.github.io/framework/

It would be good to be specific about where on the website things need to be updated (even if it is vis (e.g., X)

Closed without merge in light of the new PR #201, which proposed to take the same changes based off develop back into develop. This is the preferred sequence determined by the reviewers.
