API calls as first-class quilt citizens. Every call is a WAL event: fnv1a hash-chained JSONL (the fleet convention — hermit quilt-WAL, pong-quilt session WAL, fleet-murmur MurmurLedger). Replayable, verifiable, hearable: the event stream is a series the moth-waveform ear can run on.
Division of labor: quiltcall records and replays; it never spends money (cost_credits defaults 0; any nonzero must be set by the caller and quoted in the receipt).
- tests/test_quiltcall.py: 5/5 pins green (chain, tamper, truncate, cadence shape, cost-never-assumed)
- data/kimi1-2026-09-27.jsonl: first live WAL, 13 events, verified, tip 6b5c9622, total cost 0.0 credits
The orchestrator's own API cadence, heard by the moth-waveform ear: series [1,1,0,1,1,0,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,7] (10-min buckets), 2000 shots, seed 42: entropy 3.14/6 — REFUSED, "no tension to hear." The orchestrator is as arrhythmic as the fleet. Also caught live: a 403 on MOTHquantum /engines (Bearer header rejected; the cell auth pattern differs — recorded as an error event, verdict error, named in the WAL).
