I'm Julien DeWolfe, a Software Engineering student at the University of Ottawa who started making games in Blender's node-based engine at age 9. That turned into Unity, C#, game jams, networking rabbit holes, and eventually a fascination with systems and engineering in general. Right now I'm an intern at gadget.dev while finishing my degree.

Timeline from the beginning to now: blender games, then unity and c sharp, minecraft plugins overlapping them, then uOttawa with gadget running alongside it into the present.

Section: projects. Selected work, most recent first.

Reciped, in development. My current focus: a social recipe app. Import a recipe from any website, keep your collection in one place, and share what you cook. One GraphQL API serves a Next.js web app and a Flutter mobile app, with recipe parsing handled by a local language model. uschedule.ca, live: a timetable builder for uOttawa students. Set preferences, get every conflict-free schedule ranked, with professor ratings and calendar export. Click to open. Software Factory: AI agents working as a small dev team. A manager plans, workers write the code, a reviewer checks it, and results come back as pull requests. Polybot: a lab for testing prediction market strategies on Polymarket. Six strategies in their own Docker containers, one live dashboard, paper trading only. NAV Canada simulator: air traffic control on a rotating 3D globe with 1,000 real Canadian flights, weather overlays, and conflict scenarios. Click to try it live. Multiplayer netcode: networking from scratch in C# with client prediction, server reconciliation, and interpolation. Click to play pong with simulated lag and toggleable client prediction. Earlier work, 2018 to 2024: years of Minecraft server plugins in Java and Kotlin, including Conway's Game of Life inside Minecraft, and Tailor, an OS flashing tool. Click for my repos.

Section: a year on GitHub, fetched live from the API on every view.

My contribution heatmap for the past year, fetched live from the GitHub API. Streaks, fetched live: longest streak, active days, and contributions per active day. Contributions by weekday, fetched live. Languages in the repos I pushed to in the last 12 months, fetched live. Skyline: the same contribution year as a 3D city of amber towers, one per active day, with the camera slowly gliding along it.

Section: fun and games. Everyone plays the same board. Each move is a pre-filled GitHub issue, and the page updates within a minute or two.

The raid boss: a procedurally generated pixel monster with an HP bar and a damage leaderboard. Visitors attack it together, one strike per hour each. BLOB, the communal readme pet: food and mood bars, cared for by whoever stops by. It gets hungry every hour.

The communal pixel canvas: a 64 by 16 grid where anyone can place one pixel every 15 minutes in amber, white, or slate.

The Life garden: a communal Conway's Game of Life world. Visitors plant cells and a workflow advances one generation every hour.
