Hi, I'm Abraham Borg

Fire Sprinkler Designer · Mechanical Designer · Software Developer · Spec Writer

I design wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems under NFPA 13 for nonresidential AEC projects across the U.S., with a focus on hyperscale data centers and California K-12. I also hold a B.S. in Computer Science, and I spend my off hours writing software — usually aimed at automating pieces of my own engineering work.

What I do

  • Fire protection engineering — Wet-pipe sprinkler system design under NFPA 13 for large, mission-critical nonresidential facilities, with a specialty in hyperscale data center projects nationwide.
  • Mechanical design — Mechanical systems design for nonresidential AEC projects.
  • Software development — Scripts, calculators, and internal tools that take over the repetitive, spreadsheet-driven parts of engineering work.

Where fire protection meets code

A lot of fire protection and mechanical design still runs on manual calculations, code lookups, and spreadsheets. I use my CS background to close that gap — building tools that handle sizing, compliance checks, and calculations programmatically instead of by hand.

Tech I reach for

Python

Currently

  • Designing wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems for hyperscale data center projects across the U.S.
  • Building tools that bring automation into fire protection and mechanical design workflows.
  • Spec writing software.
  • QC automation software.
