Robinhood announces AI trading agents, 10x leverage crypto perpetuals, and weekend stock trading at HOOD Summit, sending shares up to $119.25.
Robinhood Chain News
The event took place after the US stock market closed for the day. Robinhood's stock rose to $116.21 following the announcements, with shares climbing further in after-hours and night trading to $119.6, up 2.61% from the previous close.
“Robinhood Agents" Bring AI Trading Inside the App
The centerpiece of the announcement is Robinhood Agents, an AI trading assistant built directly into the app. Customers can create a dedicated agentic trading account, choose a model from providers including OpenAI, and let the agent research markets, build strategies, and place trades automatically.
Trade approvals are switched on by default, meaning the agent cannot place an order until the customer confirms it. Customers can turn this setting off if they want the agent to trade without individual confirmations. A related feature called Loops, coming soon, will let customers turn a strategy into a standing instruction that runs continuously in the background, including overnight.
Robinhood first opened its platform to outside AI agents in May through a tool called the Robinhood Trading MCP. Since then, more than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, and those agents now interact with Robinhood's systems close to 30 million times a day.

Weekend Trading and Earnings Contracts
Weekend trading for a curated list of US equities and ETFs is planned to launch soon, pending regulatory review. The feature will extend Robinhood's existing 24 Hour Market, launched in 2023, and will run on Bruce ATS, an outside alternative trading system.
Robinhood is also launching earnings contracts ahead of the third-quarter earnings season. The contracts are binary options, offered through Cboe. That lets customers trade on whether a company beats earnings, hits a revenue target, or crosses another financial milestone. Neither Robinhood nor Cboe will charge fees on the contracts through the end of the year.
Robinhood shares have traded within a 52-week range of $29.66 to $153.86.
