WATCH OUT: the best hair in tech is coming to Málaga. You will not find a more magnificent mane at any other conference. Sorry, not sorry. But Arman Bilge is bringing more than just excellent hair. As Executive Director of the Typelevel Foundation and core maintainer of Cats Effect, he is bringing the proper technical stuff too: “Off the Beaten Path, onto the Happy Path: how Cats Effect keeps getting faster” Why would a multithreaded runtime deliberately use data structures that are not thread-safe? Arman will unpack how Cats Effect pursues the hardware-optimal happy path through local work queues, integrated timers and I/O, and intentionally racy data structures. Plus: agentic workloads, concurrency, and considerably less unnecessary synchronisation. And if that were not enough, Arman is also organising a Typelevel Summit in Málaga on 28 October, the day before Yay-Yay Conf.
