Last year, American Eagle Outfitters Inc. handed Sydney Sweeney an entire campaign. This year, they added a World Cup winner and a country singer alongside her. Levi's paired a K-pop star with an NBA MVP. Gap cast a Billboard chart artist and a horror film breakout. PACSUN skipped celebrities altogether and shot real students on a real campus. Gen Z doesn't concentrate attention the way previous generations did. Only 5% of the top 80 U.S. brands show up across all six types of Gen Z cultural conversation. As American Eagle Outfitters Inc.'s CMO put it: "This is not a monoculture moment." The single-celebrity campaign didn't die, but it stopped being enough on its own. “That was the differentiator.” Competing with larger brands does not always mean matching their scale. Sometimes the advantage comes from making a complex offer easier to buy. Seventh Bear Founder Robert Rose explains how CrownPeak stood out against much bigger technology companies by leaning into a SaaS model that removed the cost and complexity of traditional enterprise software. In this episode: • How clear differentiation helps smaller brands compete • Why simplifying the buying decision matters • When a business model becomes part of the value proposition 📺 Watch on YouTube: https://vist.ly/5fvzc 🎧 Spotify: https://vist.ly/5fvza Accelerate your brand's growth at https://vist.ly/5fvzd

The Zig.ai homepage never actually tells you what the product does. That's a deliberate bet from Peppermint: for an AI automation platform, the harder sell isn't features, it's trust. Buyers evaluating automation tools want to see the software work before they read a single claim about it, so the design carries the burden of proof that copy usually would. It’s a useful reminder for any B2B SaaS brand building for an AI-skeptical buyer: sometimes the strongest pitch is the one that never explains itself. “What I couldn't teach them was how to be a good storyteller.” Technical skills can be learned. The harder advantage to build is the ability to communicate ideas people actually care about. Seventh Bear Founder Robert Rose explains why he built his marketing team around storytellers first and taught the digital skills later. In this episode: • Why storytelling can be harder to teach than technical marketing • How to build teams around core strengths • Why unconventional hiring decisions can outperform the expected approach 📺 Watch on YouTube: https://vist.ly/5ferg 🎧 Spotify: https://vist.ly/5ferf Accelerate your brand's growth at https://vist.ly/5ferh #designrushpodcast #storytelling #marketingstrategy #leadership

ForeFront Web has been named a top digital marketing agency by DesignRush, earning a spot in the platform's digital marketing category. The agency has spent nearly three decades building digital strategies for businesses, work that now spans website development, SEO, AI search optimization, and marketing campaigns designed to help clients perform well on both traditional search platforms and emerging AI-driven search experiences. “We have always focused on creating digital strategies that align with business goals and provide a strong foundation for long-term success,” said Scott Kasun, Founder of ForeFront Web. Rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions, ForeFront Web builds each digital program around the specific needs of the business in front of it, an approach the agency has carried since its founding in 2001. Apple put a toddler with a food-covered iPhone on a billboard in Milan. Italy’s child protection authority filed a complaint, and the brand took it down. The “Relax, It's iPhone” campaign was built around durability, the same creative logic that worked in a 30-second film. But a billboard doesn’t have 30 seconds to establish context. It freezes a relationship between a child and a device and leaves viewers to fill in the rest. In a market where 86% of parents call screen time a daily priority, that narrative wrote itself. The deeper problem is consistency. Apple spent June 2026 expanding parental controls and child-safety tools. A billboard that “endorses” electronic babysitting emphasizes conflicts with these brand propositions. Creative consistency has to exist across the entire brand, not just within a single execution. Apple spent millions on an iPad Pro ad. Samsung turned Apple's biggest PR disaster into their own win in seven days. When Apple's "Crush" ad drew massive backlash for showing a hydraulic press destroying musical instruments and art supplies, Samsung didn't wait for a strategy meeting. In under a week, they recreated the exact same destroyed set, added a musician playing a damaged guitar, and published one line: "Creativity cannot be crushed." The best reactive marketing doesn't attack. It reframes. Full story at designrush.com/news
