Cloud conference budgets get spent early in the year and the calendar back-loads: nine of the sixteen events below land between mid-October and early December. Picking wrong costs a ticket, four days, and the flights on top.
The list runs in date order, earliest first, so the events you can still register for sit at the top. Each entry names who it's built for and, where the answer is clear, who should skip it.
Best Cloud Computing Conferences: Key Findings
- AWS re:Invent runs 2,200+ sessions across six Las Vegas venues, and its early-bird pass closes August 25 — a $1,200 swing per seat against the standard rate.
- Ticket prices span more than tenfold across this calendar, from the North American Cloud & Collaboration Summit's early-bird pass to Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo's $8,200 standard rate, for two events held three weeks apart.
- Gartner's July 2026 forecast puts worldwide IT spending at $6.37 trillion in 2026, up 14.2% from 2025, with data center systems and infrastructure-as-a-service the fastest-growing segments.
1. VMware Explore
Best for IT teams modernizing hybrid cloud environments and overseeing large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
- Date: August 31-September 3, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: The Venetian Convention and Expo Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price:
- Meetings+ Pass: $695
- Full Event Pass: $1,795 onsite
VMware Explore 2026 centers on enterprise cloud infrastructure, virtualization, AI-ready data centers, and operational modernization. Infrastructure leaders, systems architects, and operations teams working across hybrid and multicloud environments make up most of the room.
Session topics include application modernization and security, alongside hands-on labs, certification opportunities, and live product demos.
Enterprises face growing pressure to modernize aging systems while supporting faster development cycles and rising AI compute demands, and this year's agenda leans into that tension directly.
Explore also runs regional editions after Las Vegas, each carrying a curated subset of the sessions and Hands-on Labs. Mumbai runs September 29–30 at the Jio World Convention Centre, and a one-day public-sector event lands in Washington, D.C. The Tokyo edition on October 20–21 is invitation only and presented in Japanese, however.

2. CloudX 2026
Best for cloud engineers, architects, and developers building modern cloud platforms.
- Date: September 1-3, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Santa Clara Convention Center, California, USA
- Key Speakers:
- Muddu Sudhakar, SVP & GM, Agentforce IT Service & HR Service, Salesforce
- Price: Starts at $610
CloudX splits into several concurrent summits instead of one shared keynote track, so an SRE and a platform architect can spend the same three days in Santa Clara and barely cross paths. That structure rewards people who already know which discipline they're there for: cloud architecture, DevOps, or cloud-native application development.
The tradeoff for that specificity is depth. Sessions lean toward practitioners who walk through real implementations and design decisions, with far less roadmap pitching from vendors, which is worth knowing before you build the case for sending a whole team rather than one specialist.
If you're still building that budget argument internally, the business case for cloud computing covers the groundwork.
Book a CloudX pass before the concurrent summits fill.
3. AI Infra Summit
Best for cloud architects, AI engineers, and infrastructure leaders.
- Date: September 15-17, 2026

- Ian Buck, Vice President and General Manager, Hyperscale and HPC, NVIDIA
- Peter DeSantis, Senior Vice President, Foundational AI Models, Custom Silicon and Quantum Computing, Amazon
- Price:
- Expo Ticket: $247
- Full-Access Ticket: $2,047
- VIP Ticket: $3,497
Every AI conference talks about models. AI Infra Summit talks about what those models actually run on: the compute, data movement, and power draw that land on an infrastructure team's budget long after the model itself ships.
John-David Lovelock, Distinguished VP Analyst at Gartner, calls building that capacity "the largest infrastructure project ever attempted by humanity."
The lineup makes that focus obvious, and the organizer expects more than 8,000 attendees. AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Snowflake, Databricks, and Salesforce all send people to the same rooms here, a rarer mix than it sounds, since chipmakers and cloud providers don't usually share a stage with the companies building on top of them.
Dedicated tracks split compute from physical-AI concerns, so energy consumption and inference performance each get their own treatment instead of one vague "efficiency" panel.
Cloud architects and AI engineers get the most out of the roundtables and matchmaking sessions here, often more than the keynotes deliver.

4. Cloud & AI Summit
Best for developers and IT pros building solutions on Azure and Microsoft AI.
- Date: September 30-October 2, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Ameristar Casino and Convention Center, Missouri, USA
- Key Speakers:
- Aditya Rokade, Cloud, AI & DevOps Public Speaker, Wolters Kluwer
- Annemarie Merchant, MCT, Azure Enthusiast, MBA, Microsoft
- Becky Bertram, Owner, Savvy Technical Solutions
- Price: Starts at $900
The Cloud & AI Summit is community-run, unlike Microsoft's own flagship events, and that shows up in how the sessions are pitched. You get less roadmap theater and more practitioners comparing notes. The event ran for eighteen years as dev up before the 2026 rebrand, and it's still volunteer-run and non-profit.
Three days in St. Charles cover Azure architecture, .NET development, and enterprise cloud governance, aimed squarely at teams already committed to the Microsoft stack. Anyone still evaluating it will find the sessions pitched a level deeper than they need.
If your work is deploying and managing solutions on Azure day to day, this runs closer to a working session than a conference.
Register for the Cloud & AI Summit, one ticket covers all three days.
5. North American Cloud & Collaboration Summit
Best for Microsoft-focused IT professionals, cloud administrators, developers, and digital workplace teams.
- Date: October 4-6, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Hilton Convention Center, Branson, Missouri, USA
- Key Speakers:
- Zoe Wilson, Microsoft MVP, RD & Executive, Avanade
- Rebecka Isaksson, KM Expert, Founder
- Becky Bertram, Owner, Savvy Technical Solutions, Microsoft MVP for M365, MCT
- Price:
- Standard Pass: $200 early bird
- Premium Ticket: $500
- VIP Pass: $1,500
A $200 early-bird pass buys most of what Microsoft Ignite covers on the collaboration side, including Teams, Copilot, Microsoft 365, and cloud administration, at a fraction of the price and a fraction of the crowd. That trade defines who this event is for: IT admins and workplace teams who want the Microsoft stack covered without the Ignite-scale expense report.
The smaller footprint means workshops run as real peer conversations, with none of the one-way keynote feel, and getting time with a speaker afterward doesn't mean fighting a line.
For teams priced out of the bigger Microsoft events, it's a reasonable stand-in, though it works best as a complement to them rather than a full replacement.
Grab an early-bird Collaboration Summit pass while the discount window is open.
6. Open Source Summit + Embedded Linux Conference Europe
Best for developers, DevOps teams, cloud architects, maintainers, and open-source community leaders.
- Date: October 7-9, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Prague, Czech Republic
- Key Speakers:
- Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux and Git
- Price:
- Attendee Pass: €590 early bird
- Academic Pass: €230
- Small Business Pass: €420
The Linux Foundation runs this one, so the people in the room are often the ones who actually maintain the Kubernetes, Linux, and AI tooling most cloud teams run in production. Prague also marks 35 years of Linux, and the schedule builds a featured conversation with Linus Torvalds around it.
That distinction matters more for some attendees than others. Maintainers, OSPO leaders, and legal specialists dealing with licensing will find whole tracks built around governance and sustainability questions that never come up at a product-focused conference.
Engineers who just want to see what's shipping in cloud-native tooling get that too, spread across mini-summits and project meetups instead of one main stage.
Sessions stay available on-demand afterward, worth knowing if the schedule conflicts pile up, as they tend to at multi-track events like this one.
Check Open Source Summit rates, including academic and small-business tiers.
7. 2026 OCP Global Summit
Best for engineers and architects designing scalable open infrastructure for cloud and data centers.
- Date: October 12-15, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: San Jose Convention Center, California, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price:
- Pre-Sale Registration (Members & Sponsors): $800
- Early Registration (Public): $800
- Standard Registration: $1,000
- Onsite Registration: $1,300
Open standards for data center hardware get set here, at the one summit built entirely around that problem, well outside any single cloud provider's roadmap.
If your team specifies or builds the physical infrastructure behind cloud platforms, this is a narrower and more useful three days than a general cloud conference offers, since the software layer barely comes up.
OCP warns that tickets may sell out before the event and that onsite registration may not be available, so this is not one to decide in October. The summit runs in person only, with no livestream and no remote presentations.
Expect the program to stay almost entirely on hardware: scalable data center design, open compute standards, and the engineering tradeoffs of high-performance systems, with little of the platform-strategy or DevOps content that dilutes broader events.
Register for the OCP Global Summit before tickets run out.
8. Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo
Best for CIOs, cloud architects, infrastructure executives, enterprise architects, and IT decision-makers planning long-term cloud and AI initiatives.
- Date: October 19–22, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, Orlando, Florida, USA
- Key Speakers:
- Daryl Plummer, Distinguished VP Analyst, Gartner
- Kristin Moyer, Distinguished VP Analyst, Gartner
- Alicia Mullery, VP Analyst, Gartner
- Price:
- Standard Price: $8,200
- Public-Sector Price: $6,125
- Group discounts available
Engineering teams rarely control their own tooling budget. Someone in a room like this one sets it for them. Teams without a seat in that room often route the decision through outside advisors instead, which is where cloud consulting companies earn their fee.
Gartner's IT Symposium/Xpo is where CIOs and IT executives lock in next year's sourcing and infrastructure priorities. Gartner expects more than 7,000 CIOs and senior leaders across 350-plus sessions led by 140-plus of its own analysts, under a 2026 theme of Ignite Intelligence.
The format reflects who's actually in the room: analyst-led workshops and one-on-one meetings outnumber the hands-on labs you'd find at an engineering event, and the expo hall skews toward major enterprise vendors pitching decision-makers well above the developer level.
Gartner's Conference Navigator app is worth downloading before you land, since the most useful sessions fill up fast.
Teams without a seat in that room often route the decision through outside advisors instead, which is where cloud consulting companies earn their fee.

9. Oracle AI World
Best for cloud architects, enterprise IT teams, infrastructure leaders, and data platform teams.
- Date: October 25-28, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: The Venetian Convention and Expo Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price:
- Individual Pass: $1,999 saver rate through September 21, rising to $2,399 from September 22
- Group Pass: $1,899 per person, five or more from the same company
- Public Sector Pass: $1,399, or $1,099 without The Party (closing event, headlined by Maroon 5)
If you're already running workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, this is the one week a year you get direct access to the engineers and executives shipping that roadmap, well beyond what a release note tells you.
The agenda centers on OCI, AI-ready data platforms, and application modernization, with customer panels doing more of the real talking than the keynote stage does.
Product bootcamps and hands-on labs give data platform teams something to do besides sit and watch, which matters if you're sending someone whose job is implementation over strategy.
Registration also carries 30 days of On Air access afterward, so a second person can pick up the sessions you miss. Teams still evaluating Oracle Cloud, as opposed to already committed to it, will get less out of the week.
See Oracle AI World passes and what registration covers.
10. HashiConf at IBM TechXchange
Best for platform engineers and DevOps leaders managing hybrid cloud infrastructure and automation.
- Date: October 26-29, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price:
- IBM TechXchange pass, $1,599 standard
- Discounted public-sector rate available. One pass covers HashiConf, TechXchange, IDUG North America, and COMMON sessions.
2026 changes the math on HashiConf. For the first time, it runs co-located with IBM TechXchange, so a Terraform-and-Vault crowd suddenly has IBM's broader infrastructure and security program sitting in the same building.
It's also HashiConf's first year in Atlanta, which makes this a genuinely different trip than previous years and worth factoring in if you're choosing between this and a standalone HashiCorp event. Plenty of teams running a hybrid estate this size don't staff it entirely in-house, and managed service providers cover the gap between conference weeks.
The program splits cleanly into two tracks, Hybrid Cloud Management and Security and Governance, so platform engineers and SREs can plan their week without guessing which sessions apply. Hands-on labs and certification testing run throughout, so there's a real path to leaving with something more than notes.
IBM reported 7,900+ attendees at the 2025 edition in Orlando, and 2026 folds in IDUG and COMMON on top of that, so budget for a bigger room than a standalone HashiConf.
Book a HashiConf pass through IBM TechXchange.
11. KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America
Best for platform engineers, cloud architects, DevOps teams, SREs, Kubernetes practitioners, and organizations running cloud-native infrastructure.
- Date: November 9-12, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price:
- All-Access: $1,798 corporate, $978 individual, $275 academic (standard, through Sept 2)
- KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Only: $1,499 corporate, $679 individual, $200 academic (standard, through Sept 2)
- Late rates from September 3: $2,278 / $1,278 and $1,899 / $899
- Groups of five or more: 10% off corporate passes
Almost every production cloud-native stack today runs on a CNCF project somewhere, and KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is where the maintainers of those projects actually gather in one place. That's what separates it from a vendor conference: the roadmap conversations here happen with the people writing the code, not the people selling around it.
Four days give the schedule room to cover Kubernetes operations, service meshes, observability, and multi-cloud security without cramming it all into parallel tracks that force impossible choices.
How much of that security track lands depends on who you have, since most platform groups bring in cybersecurity companies for the parts they can't staff. Co-located CNCF project sessions run alongside the main program, so platform engineers and SREs deep in a specific tool can head straight to its dedicated room instead of hoping a general session covers it.
The Solutions Showcase is worth the walk, if only because the vendors here tend to build directly on the projects being discussed upstairs.
Standard pricing ends September 2, and late rates add $400 to $480 depending on the pass. There's no virtual option, though registration includes on-demand recordings afterward.
Compare KubeCon pass types before standard pricing ends.
12. Microsoft Ignite
Best for cloud architects, Azure teams, IT decision-makers, developers, and security professionals.
- Date: November 17-20, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price: TBA
Whatever Microsoft announces at Ignite becomes next year's default for any team standardized on Azure, Microsoft 365, or GitHub, whether or not anyone from that team actually attends. That's the real reason this event matters beyond its own program: it sets the pace the rest of the ecosystem follows.
The week covers cloud modernization, AI-powered business applications, and hybrid infrastructure management, with GitHub workflows getting steadily more airtime as Microsoft folds it deeper into the Azure story.
Cloud architects and security professionals get direct access to the engineers behind these products, not just the marketing built around them, and certification tracks run in parallel for anyone using the week to check a box as well as catch the news.
Microsoft posts Ignite registration here once it opens.
13. AWS re:Invent
Best for developers and architects building advanced solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Date: November 30-December 4, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price: $1,299 early bird through August 25, $2,499 standard after. 10% group discount at ten or more passes.
AWS saves its biggest announcements of the year for this one week, which is exactly why teams standardized on the platform tend to build next year's architecture plans around whatever comes out of it.
Cloud migration, generative AI services, and advanced AWS tooling dominate a schedule that runs past 2,200 sessions, closer to a full curriculum than a conference.
Getting real time with AWS architects, well past the keynote demos, is the actual value for developers building at scale, and the hands-on labs are where that access tends to happen.
Check re:Invent pass pricing ahead of the early-bird cutoff.
14. IC2E
Best for cloud computing researchers, systems engineers, academics, PhD students, and enterprise teams working on cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
- Date: October 13–16, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Santa Clara, California, USA
- Key Speakers:
- Kate Keahey, Argonne National Laboratory, University of Chicago
- Cullen Bash, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
- Price: TBA
IC2E sits in an unusual middle ground, with peer-reviewed research on one side of the room and enterprise engineering teams working the same distributed-systems problems on the other. Most conferences pick one audience, while this one keeps both in the same building, which is genuinely rare outside a handful of academic-only venues.
Sustainability in cloud systems joins the usual coverage of storage, virtualization, and scalable architectures this year, reflecting where long-term infrastructure efficiency research has been heading.
PhD students and academics get the paper presentations they came for, while enterprise teams tend to get more out of the workshops and demos running alongside them.
View the IC2E program and author registration details.
15. Global Summit on Data Science and Cloud Computing
Best for researchers, engineers, and cloud professionals exploring big data and cloud innovation.
- Date: October 19-20, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Rome, Italy
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price: Starts at $599
Rome's Global Summit puts data science and cloud infrastructure in the same two days, which few events do, given how tightly analytics pipelines depend on the architecture running underneath them.
It comes from a different tradition than the two IEEE conferences here: the organizer is Noveltics Group, a Delaware company that runs conference series across a wide range of fields and host cities, rather than a society-run venue with a standing program committee.
Expect a genuine mix, not a cloud conference with a data-science panel bolted on. Research presentations sit next to hands-on workshops and industry application sessions, aimed at researchers and cloud professionals working the same problem from different sides.
Review the summit agenda and registration options.
16. IEEE CloudCom
Best for cloud computing researchers, distributed systems engineers, academics, AI infrastructure teams, and practitioners working on cloud platforms, virtualization, and large-scale computing systems.
- Date: October 27–29, 2026
- Medium: In person
- Location: Paris, France
- Key Speakers: TBA
- Price: TBA
By the time distributed AI agent training or large language model infrastructure shows up in a vendor's product roadmap, it's usually been discussed at a research conference like this one first. IEEE CloudCom in Paris is where that early work on cloud architecture, edge computing, and AI-driven optimization gets presented, well ahead of the industry events earlier on this list.
Distributed systems engineers and AI infrastructure researchers get workshop sessions and paper presentations here, with product demos left off the agenda. Registration details and pricing are still pending, typical for an event this far from its own dates.
See the CloudCom program and submission dates.
What Each Conference Will Cost You
Ticket price alone doesn't capture the real budget, since travel, hotel, and time out of office often match or beat the ticket. Here's how the remaining 2026 calendar sorts by starting price:
- Under $700: North American Cloud & Collaboration Summit ($200), KubeCon academic passes ($200), AI Infra Summit's Expo Ticket ($247), Open Source Summit + Embedded Linux Conference Europe's academic pass (€230), Global Summit on Data Science and Cloud Computing ($599), CloudX ($610), KubeCon individual passes (from $679), VMware Explore's Meetings+ Pass ($695).
- $700 to $2,000: OCP Global Summit ($800 to $1,000), Cloud & AI Summit ($900), AWS re:Invent's early-bird pass ($1,299), Oracle AI World's public-sector pass ($1,399), KubeCon corporate passes (from $1,499), HashiConf at IBM TechXchange ($1,599), VMware Explore's Full Event Pass ($1,795), Oracle AI World's individual saver rate ($1,999).
Microsoft Ignite and IEEE CloudCom have not published pricing at the time of writing, so check their websites closer to November.
Which Cloud Computing Conference Should You Attend?
Your stack, your technical depth, and your budget cut sixteen events down to two or three faster than any other filter. Those same three questions decide whether a cloud project stays in-house or goes to one of the IT services companies built for it.
Here’s how to narrow it down:
- Choose based on your cloud stack. AWS teams get the most from re:Invent, Azure professionals from Microsoft Ignite or the Cloud & AI Summit, and Oracle-focused organizations from Oracle AI World.
- Match the event to your technical depth. KubeCon and HashiConf lean technical, while the Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo leans toward strategy, leadership, and enterprise planning.
- Weigh your AI infrastructure needs. AI Infra Summit and Oracle AI World put the most emphasis on AI compute, inference infrastructure, and large-scale deployment challenges.
- Consider whether your role is research-heavy. IC2E, IEEE CloudCom, and the Global Summit on Data Science and Cloud Computing suit researchers, PhD students, and engineering teams exploring distributed systems and cloud sustainability.
