The desktop app allows free customisation of the basic layout via the toggleLayoutMoveMode command (bound to View > Change application layout toolbar menu) which allows movement of the various panels and can permit vertical, horizontal or mixed layouts. The application also supports toggling the visibility of the notebook list and notelist.
The terminal app is otherwise relatively static, the columns are a defined width at startup and cannot be manually toggled easily.

This enhancement has some crossover with the "Change Layout" enhancement at: #6479

  • The application should allow configuration of the panes to support different layouts (e.g move console pane to an hlayout rather than vlayout pane or allow two panes to occupy a space usually taken up by only one pane).
  • Changes to the layout should be reflected in real time in the application
  • Changes should saved and should persist through sessions
