PMGSY recently released ~7,70,000 geo-tagged rural facilities data on it's portal. This map shows the density across India colored by category type (Agro, Education, Medical, Transport/Admin). 'Glow' signifies concentration. Read the thread for details. Caveats below. 1/n

I didn't think the Padma dashboard would survive this longer – 5 years & counting. 😯 IIRC, it took couple of days to flush out the 1st version and few more to deploy. Looking back, certainly design can be improved. 😅 Oh and I managed to sneak in a few hidden Easter eggs. 🔎

If India manages to maintain the vaccination rate of the last 5 days. – 100% Adult population would have 1st dose by November 14th – By January 27th, all adults would be fully vaccinated /1

💉 50% of India’s adult population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. • It took us 223 days to give 472 million Indians a dose of covid vaccine. • Larger states like UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Andhra are yet to cross the 40% mark.

For simplicity, I used tricolors only and emblem color for the borders. Uses district population from 2011 census.

💉About 41% adults have taken a dose of vaccine so far. Some larger states like UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra, Tamil Nadu have a low 30% vax rate. We need doses for another 8.2 crore unvaccinated adults to cross 50% mark. Much of it would depend on how these states move.

Far too many districts have less than one testing lab* per lakh population. It's worth exploring how our heath infrastructure coverage is, beyond the urban cities. *RTPCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT labs 📈 from data team
