    Does anyone know how to change the background color of the highlighted line when you search in a file? editor.lineHighlightBackground does not seem to affect it. Though the standard light and dark themes do seem to have their own color for it.
    I think it's not possible as none of the themes I can find have it changed.

    can anyone suggest an alternative to IntelliSense for Javascript development? I'm at the 8 hour mark of troubleshooting and am pretty unimpressed with what I'm seeing.
    redbeard
    @brianredbeard
    I ask because I've read through hundreds of issues at this point and generally what seems to happen is:
    1) someone is having an issue with VSCode
    2) they're not an expert in VSCode and thus they cannot answer the inbound questions from the developer
    3) they have a round trip of 3 or 4 times trying to work that out
    4) users are told ~"buzz off, your princess is in a different castle"~ "buzz off, that's a defect in a different project" (generally a project tightly integrated with VSCode, e.g. TypeScript). So when one is troubleshooting something like Intellisense, it turns into a fingerpointing match going back and forth between the VSCode and TypeScript issue trackers.
    and i'm tired of being caught in the middle

    @aderchox: did you use the Enable (Workspace) or Disable (Workspace)? I disable all Extensions and only Enable the one i want for that saved workspace i keep my files organised.

    hello. I have a problem with my debugger configuration. I've just noticed that nodejs child processes hang after closing the debugger. I had to clean them one by one a few minutes ago. Here is my configuration. Can anybody tell me what's wrong with it? Thanks in advance

    Is there an intro to the vscode repo? I'm looking to reuse the UI on a new website with my own custom backend for saving/debugging. Hoping to understand how to extract just the pieces needed for my site (e.g. previously I've been using monaco-editor-core because I don't need any of the additional language supports)

    still trying to sift through the code.. trying to find how you could run vscode in a browser with no backend (e.g. you could use localStorage as a backend)

    hey there!
    I have the following set up:

    • Local vscode
    • Remote machine with ssh access
    • docker-compose up on remote machine. it serves 2 containters
    • Docker extension shows me both containers are up and running

    When I try to "Attach to vscode", it's only possible to attach only to one of the containers. What may be the problem?

    Hi, for some reason my integrated terminal always opens in AppData/Local/Programs/Microsoft VS Code instead of the directory of the current file. I've tried setting terminal.integrated.cwd for both User and Workspace to no avail. Any ideas on what else I might be able to try?

    are @brackets broken in Monaco/Monarch? even on the live demo, I can't get them to:

    1. auto-close
    2. auto-indent
    3. highlight matching

    folding does work, however

    I have now been contributing to VSCode for about half a year now. I believe that there are a few things that need to change for the project to become more welcoming and open to contributors (e.g. response times, transparency). So I created an issue, where I would love to hear your opinion on those topics. microsoft/vscode#116726

    Hi guys, could you please give me a tip to configure VSCode to properly run a springboot application that need an external classpath folder?

    I've to achieve something like this

    /opt/jdk1.8.0_202/bin/java -cp ./CR_SPRINGBOOT-MSERVICE-2.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar:/opt/springboot/resources:/opt/springboot/resources/stores -Dspring.profiles.active=dev -Djava.security.egd=file:/dev/../dev/urandom -Dloader.main=it.mycomp.myapi.SpringbootApi org.springframework.boot.loader.PropertiesLauncher

    so i've configured lauch.json like this (and many other similar variant) but no success!

    {
    "type": "java",
    "name": "Spring Boot-PropertiesLauncher<CR_SPRINGBOOT-MSERVICE>",
    "request": "launch",
    "cwd": "${workspaceFolder}",
    "console": "internalConsole",
    "mainClass": "it.mycomp.myapi.SpringbootApi org.springframework.boot.loader.PropertiesLauncher",
    "projectName": "CR_SPRINGBOOT-MSERVICE",
    "args": "--spring.profiles.active=dev",
    "vmArgs": "-Dloader.path=${workspaceFolder},${workspaceFolder}\\..\\..\\somefolder\\resources"
    },
    where i'm wrong?
    I've googled for that and tried a lot of other setup but still no success :'(

    Hello! I am new to contributing to open source, but I would like to get more into this. What are your recommendations in regards to actually contributing to VScode (for e.g. to get a PR merged)?
    Bailey Stoner
    @monokrome
    • look at roadmap, do something on roadmap
      or
    • look at open issues, join the discussion, ask to take ownership of delivering a solution if you seem ready to start on it
    same for any open source project
    If open source projects have a CONTRIBUTING file, use that to answer this question: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md
