dtschfr Hi guys, I am trying to use the git branch name as a Variables Reference. I am failing though. I tried to create a input variable first and now I try to dig through gitlens to find the variable that shows the branch name in the bottom left. Any idea how I can achieve my goal? My final aim is to be able to use the git branch name as parameter for cmake install-prefix and for startup parameters of my application that I am going to debug.
Hey,
I'm currently trying to propose VSCode as the default editor in IT class at my school.
The teachers like the idea as we're currently using a different editor for each language, but we would need some customization to being able to install and use it on the school computers.
The main issues are that we need to remove some functionality to not overwhelm students who are new to programming with to many features
and that we don't want them to being able change the config, to install extensions, etc. on their own. The latter one can probably being achieved by installing a custom build
and just bundling the extensions we want as default extensions. But this comes with the limitation that uninstalling an extension would be a lot of work,
especially when repeating it on 40 computers. On the other hand, we would want to lock certain actions like installing extensions or changing the configuration behind a password
or something similar. I am currently working on creating a custom build, but it's a lot of code and I wanted to ask if
a) there's already a solution for some of the issues I have
b) where to ask for help when searching for something in the code
thanks in advance
In a Multi-root Workspaces, when I open a file in a project, how can I run task in that project quickly?
Now, I have to execute Tasks: Run Taskand choose one task in ALL tasks in this Multi-root Workspace. I have lots of projects in the Multi-root Workspaces. Can I assign an hotkey to run specific task in ACTIVE project?
What I expected is something like "Run Task in Context" command, is it possible to do in latest VSCode release?
