The Maine Republican said on Tuesday that it was "inappropriate" for fellow members of the Senate to predetermine the outcome of the Trump impeachment trial after Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested he would coordinate with the White House on setting the rules for the trial. Collins is the second Republican to criticize McConnell after Senator Lisa Murkowski.
