Anki Killstreaks

A Halo and Call of Duty inspired add-on that makes doing your reviews more bearable.

Features

Right now, the add-on features Halo 3 multi kills and kill streaks, that means: Double Kill, Triple Kill, Overkill, etc. and Killing Spree, Killing Frenzy, etc.

The multikills are shown if the time between seeing the question and showing the answer of a card is less than 8 seconds, and then if you mark either good or easy on the card.

Please report issues through Github. Include a detailed description, screenshot if possible, and the error message shown in Anki.

Contributing

Contributing is definitely welcome. Submit a pull request with your changes. I generally stick to 80-column and PEP8 standards, and I prefer everything not touching Qt to be snake_case. If the changes you’re making introduce complex logic, tests would be helpful. I use pytest.

Purpose

Pomoredux is an app that I created inbetween working as a software engineer and starting medical school. I created it to learn React and Redux in case I needed to get another software job before I got accepted to medical school.

That being said, I’ve used the app continously since I created it and have found it super useful and hope you find the same!

Easily create video or audio power hours from YouTube videos. Add your urls, pick start times, add an intermission with the full song option, and create your power hour.

Power Hour Creator automatically downloads the videos, cuts them to 60 seconds, and merges them into one file for you. Use the import and export options to share the power hour tracklists.

Development

Uses Python 3.6, PyQt 5, youtube-dl, ffmpeg, and ffmpeg-normalize.

Ortho528 MCAT Anki Deck

Here’s my Anki deck that I created for the MCAT. I got 132 on all of the content sections (132/130/132/132 on 3/31/2017), and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Anki and the /r/mcat subreddit.

There are 4351 cards in the deck with content for all three content sections. I use tags, rather than splitting the cards into multiple decks. The main tags are bb, cp, and ps, for the sections of MCAT. There are many more specific tags, though I can’t guarantee that all of the cards that could be relevant for a given tag will have that tag.

I am a career changer med school applicant, so I had to relearn pretty much all of the MCAT content from scratch. What that means is that the content in this deck should be relatively comprehensive for the test, as I had to relearn it all, and I used Anki for everything. The content is based on the prep books I used and a human physiology class I took. I used all the EK 9th edition books, TPR and Khan Academy for psych, Kaplan Biochem 3rd edition.

I also took the following practice Tests:

EK 1, 5 (don’t take this one…), 3
NS 1, 2, 3
AAMC Sample, Section Bank, QPacks, 1 and 2

With that in mind, there may be some spoilers for questions on those tests. There will not be many spoilers for AAMC material (I didn’t miss many questions on their tests, other than the SB).

It would be great if people want to contribute to this and improve the tagging or suggest cards to be added, edited, or removed. Send me a PM with the changes and I will be happy to add it to the Google Drive folder.
