The inclusion of Italy's historic "condominio" theatres on the UNESCO World Heritage List celebrates an extraordinary architectural heritage, with the Marche region home to eight of the ten recognised theatres. Among them are three theatres where Poltrona Frau has contributed its craftsmanship and expertise over the years: Teatro dell'Aquila in Fermo, Teatro Lauro Rossi in Macerata and Teatro Feronia in San Severino Marche. Through bespoke seating and restoration projects, our craftsmanship has supported the preservation of these cultural landmarks, respecting their unique architectural identity. As "Design: Theater of Excellence" at the Italian Trade Agency headquarters in New York approaches its final days, we are proud to showcase some of Poltrona Frau's most iconic creations featured within this immersive celebration of Italian design. On view by appointment until July 15, 2026, the exhibition, presented by INTERNI Magazine and curated by OTTO Studio, is part of "Italy on Madison: Showcasing Italian Excellence", an initiative highlighting the creativity, culture, and innovation that continue to define Italian design on the international stage. For the new Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors collaborated with Ateliers Jean Nouvel to create 120 bespoke seats for the auditorium of the institution’s new home at Place du Palais-Royal. Designed to become an integral part of the space rather than simply furnish it, the seats contribute to the auditorium’s immersive monochromatic identity, where deep red velvet, architecture and light come together in a singular sensory experience. A project that reflects our ongoing commitment to translating complex architectural visions into bespoke solutions through craftsmanship, technical expertise and a deep understanding of place.
