I noticed the issue trying to run the redis-py tests locally. The configuration uses the redis/redis-stack-server:edge image, and when the tests try to execute the FT.CONFIG command an error is thrown.
After changing the image to redis-stack-server:7.2.0-v13 the tests using that command are running successfully.
