Lua is common on embedded/IoT devices and routers (OpenWRT, NodeMCU/ESP-based firmware) — a Lua example would serve the IoT/embedded audience this repo already claims in the README, alongside the C example requested in #23.
What's needed (see CONTRIBUTING.md for the full checklist):
lua-zerosmtp.lua at the repo root, reading ZEROSMTP_USERNAME, ZEROSMTP_PASSWORD, ZEROSMTP_FROM, ZEROSMTP_TO (optionally ZEROSMTP_SUBJECT) from the environment.
LuaSocket + LuaSec (for TLS) is the standard combo and is available on OpenWRT via opkg — please note any embedded-target caveats in comments if they come up.
- A syntax-check job added to
.github/workflows/lint.yml (luac -p).
- A row in the Code Examples table in both
README.md and README.pl.md.
A PR that only adds the example file is still very welcome.
