for xmodmap change, add a startup application with a shell wrapper of the xmodmap command.
QT does not support HiDPI until 5.6, so need to add an environment variable before starting the QT applications.
Such as QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2 your-app, or QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 your-app.
In .desktop file, add Exec=env QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 your-app.
GTK HiDPI, export GDK_SCALE=2, then start the application.
