The authselect command currently does not have a 'remove/delete' action, the custom profile has to be removed manually:
List the available profiles:
# authselect list
- minimal Local users only for minimal installations
- nis Enable NIS for system authentication
- sssd Enable SSSD for system authentication (also for local users only)
- winbind Enable winbind for system authentication
- custom/my-sssd Enable SSSD for system authentication (also for local users only)
Check that the profile to be removed is not used:
# authselect current
Profile ID: sssd
Enabled features:
- with-faillock
Remove the custom profile:
# rm -rf /etc/authselect/custom/my-sssd/
Confirm that the profile has been removed:
# ls -l /etc/authselect/custom/
total 0
# authselect list
- minimal Local users only for minimal installations
- nis Enable NIS for system authentication
- sssd Enable SSSD for system authentication (also for local users only)
- winbind Enable winbind for system authentication
I think it makes sense to add an option to delete custom profile in authselect command.
