Files Changed

New files — add to src/services/

  • src/services/competitors.ts — analyze_competitors tool
  • src/services/people-also-ask.ts — get_people_also_ask tool
  • src/services/schema.ts — generate_schema tool
  • src/services/indexing.ts — submit_to_google tool
  • src/services/internal-links.ts — suggest_internal_links tool

Replaced files — already updated

  • src/index.ts — upgraded from v1 to v2, all 10 tools registered
  • src/prompts/blog-generator.ts — all 3 prompts upgraded with new steps
  • .env.example — 4 new environment variables added

Step 1 — Add New ENV Variables to Your .env

Open your .env file and add these 4 variables (all optional — tools work without them):

# Frontend URL (for internal link builder to create full post URLs)
CMS_FRONTEND_URL=https://dailyblogs.website

# Google Custom Search — analyze_competitors (free 100/day)
GOOGLE_SEARCH_API_KEY=
GOOGLE_SEARCH_CX=

# Google Indexing API — submit_to_google (free 200/day)
GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_JSON=

Step 2 — Setup Google Custom Search (Optional, Free)

Powers analyze_competitors with real Google results. Without it, DDG is used.

  1. Go to console.cloud.google.com → Create or select a project
  2. APIs & Services → Library → Search "Custom Search API" → Enable
  3. APIs & Services → Credentials → + Create Credentials → API Key → Copy it → paste into GOOGLE_SEARCH_API_KEY
  4. Go to cse.google.com/cse/all → click Add
  5. Under "Sites to search" type *.com → Click Create
  6. Click Edit search engine → Setup tab → Copy the Search engine ID → paste into GOOGLE_SEARCH_CX

Free: 100 queries/day. No credit card needed.

Step 3 — Setup Google Indexing API (Optional, Free)

Powers submit_to_google — pings Google immediately after every blog publish.

Part A — Google Cloud Console

  1. Go to console.cloud.google.com → same project as above
  2. APIs & Services → Library → Search "Indexing API" → Enable
  3. IAM & Admin → Service Accounts → + Create Service Account
  4. Name it anything (e.g. mcp-indexing) → Click Done
  5. Click on the service account → Keys tab → Add Key → Create new key → JSON
  6. A .json file downloads to your computer — open it with Notepad

Part B — Add to .env

Copy the entire contents of the downloaded .json file and paste it as the value of GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_JSON:

GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_JSON={"type":"service_account","project_id":"...","private_key_id":"...","private_key":"-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----\n...\n-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----\n","client_email":"mcp-indexing@your-project.iam.gserviceaccount.com",...}

Part C — Google Search Console

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console
  2. Select your website property (dailyblogs.website)
  3. Settings → Users and permissions → Add User
  4. Paste the client_email from your JSON file (looks like mcp-indexing@yourproject.iam.gserviceaccount.com)
  5. Set role to Owner → Click Add

Free: 200 URL submissions/day. Resets midnight Pacific Time.

Step 4 — Build and Restart

# Inside: C:\Users\Sohail Shabbir\Desktop\MCP blogs server
npm run build

Then restart Claude Desktop so the updated MCP server loads.
