Installation Guide

This guide explains how to install Ultimate Text Selection Translator on supported browsers.

Step 1 — Install a Userscript Manager

I recommend Tampermonkey, which provides the best compatibility with Ultimate Text Selection Translator.

Browser Recommended Alternatives
Chrome Chrome / Chromium-based browsers Tampermonkey Violentmonkey · ScriptCat
Firefox Firefox Tampermonkey Violentmonkey · ScriptCat
Edge Edge Tampermonkey Violentmonkey · ScriptCat
Brave Brave Tampermonkey Violentmonkey
Opera Opera Tampermonkey Violentmonkey
Safari Safari (macOS / iPhone / iPad) Userscripts Stay

Step 2 — Install Ultimate Text Selection Translator

Install Userscript View on Greasy Fork

Click Install Userscript for direct installation, or open the Greasy Fork page to review the script before installing it.

Step 3 — Start Translating

Select any text on a webpage and translate it instantly using either:

  • Your configured keyboard shortcut (default: Ctrl + L)
  • The floating translation button that appears next to selected text

The keyboard shortcut can be changed at any time from the script settings, and the floating translation button can also be enabled or disabled globally or on a per-site basis.

Updating

Most userscript managers automatically check for script updates.

You can also manually check for updates from your userscript manager dashboard.
