If we run a hiring village, what’s going to make that good? Bad? The idea is to connect people hiring with people willing to consider being hired.

KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid – The Power of Simplicity in Old Personal Projects One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in software development is that simplicity is powerful. Revisiting my older personal projects, I noticed how many solutions that seemed “functional” at the time became hard to understand, maintain, or extend over time. Applying the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle to these projects was eye-opening: -I reduced long, complex functions into smaller, clearer blocks -I reorganized folder and file structures to reflect actual responsibilities -I removed duplicated and unnecessary code that had accumulated during experiments These changes made the code more readable, reliable, and easier to expand, even in projects I had created months or years ago. Some practices that helped me: -Single-responsibility functions – Each function does one thing well -Clear and descriptive names – Code explains itself without relying on comments -Eliminate unnecessary complexity – Sometimes fewer lines solve more -Organized folders and modules – Reflect the project’s structure and improve maintainability This process reinforced that simple fundamentals applied consistently make a bigger difference than any modern framework or advanced technique. Complex systems are built on solid, simple foundations, and refactoring old projects is a great way to strengthen that foundation and learn from past mistakes.

🧼 Clean Code isn’t about style — it’s about survival. In his session at #IntPHPcon, Stefan Priebsch shows you why clean code is still the foundation of maintainable, scalable PHP applications — and how small changes can make a huge difference 👇 ✅ Clear principles you can apply immediately 🧠 Before & after code examples 🛠 Works with Symfony, Laravel & modern PHP stacks IPC | 📍Berlin | 📅 June 8 – 12, 2026 🎓All about the session: https://lnkd.in/drTfNnBq #PHP #CleanCode #SoftwareCraftsmanship #IntPHPcon

📱 Mobile App Architecture — Build Scalable Apps That Last A great mobile app isn’t just about UI — it’s about having the right architecture behind the scenes. 🏗️ What good mobile app architecture delivers: - Clear separation of concerns (UI, business logic, data) - Better scalability & easier maintenance - Faster development and cleaner collaboration - Strong foundation for future features & growth 💡 In this guide, we break down common mobile app architectures, key components, best practices, and how to choose the right approach for your product. 🔗 Read the full guide → https://lnkd.in/g82n2Nv9 #MobileAppDevelopment #AppArchitecture #ScalableApps #SoftwareDesign #DevStationTechnology #TechGuide #EngineeringBestPractices

When people think about building software, they often imagine development starting right away with full app design and coding. In reality, some of the most important work happens before the first line of code is written. The discovery phase is where teams align on: – what problem is actually being solved – who the users are and what they need – what success looks like in business terms – which systems the product needs to integrate with (AI, payments, hardware, etc.) – the right monetisation and implementation approach – how to set the right architecture for scalability and performance For our clients at ExergyIQ, this step is always collaborative, transparent, and practical. If it doesn’t feel that way, it’s usually a sign to pause and ask more questions. In the next post, we’ll look at what comes after discovery and why skipping this step often leads to confusion later on.

Claude Ljubljana Meetup #2 is on Thursday, 15 October, at Teads in Ljubljana. The theme is Claude at Work: how people and teams use Claude for real work outside software development. This one isn't about coding agents or developer tooling. Instead, four speakers from four very different settings will share concrete examples, including what didn't work. On stage: Neža Jeranko (AI Transformation Lead, Produktnica): what Slovenian SMEs learned when their knowledge workers, not their developers, started using Claude every day. Andrei Parfenov (Developer Educator & Infrastructure Lead, TripleTen): how Claude changed who does what in a team that builds learning courses, and where the line between "AI suggests" and "AI decides" must stay. Jan Rupnik (Lead AI Engineer, Nordoon): how his team turns customer feedback and manual corrections into tested fixes that a person reviews, for automations used by manufacturers, including pharmaceutical companies. Jošt Novljan (VP Engineering, SAP LeanIX): how he uses Claude to run a 300-person engineering organisation, covering what works, what's hype, and which part of leadership stays human. There are four 15-minute talks with Q&A after each, all in English. Talks start at 18:00. If you use Claude at work, or are thinking about it, this one is for you, whether you write code or not. Thanks to Teads for hosting us. Registration link in the first comment. 👇

When we write code, we assume future maintainers will understand our context. In reality, six months later, even you are already a stranger. Clear structure, meaningful naming, and honest comments aren’t about elegance — they’re about responsibility #MaintainableCode #CleanArchitecture #EngineeringMindset

Tech Leads, Team Leads, Senior Engineers, Architects — does this sound familiar? At some point in your career, a weird thing happens: - you know a lot, you’ve built complex systems, you’ve survived production fires… - but you still can’t break into the next level. Why? Because you can push hard skills really far… and fall into the trap of one-sided growth. You become stronger as an engineer — but you don’t grow as much as a leader, communicator, negotiator — someone who can influence. And that’s when the feeling shows up: - “I’ve hit a ceiling.” - “I’m stuck.” - “People don’t really hear me / get me.” - “In meetings I either push too hard or stay silent.” That’s usually the moment you seriously look at soft skills. And then comes the second trap. People try to improve “soft skills” using generic checklists: - they read psychology books, take personality tests, copy what others do… - but often they miss their actual weakest link. And that’s the key: it’s not “soft skills in general” that unlock your next step.   It’s the one skill that’s personally holding you back: - negotiating and aligning - staying confident in conflict - emotional self-control - influencing without pressure - clear communication Normally, a specialist can help you identify that. But coaching can be expensive. The good news: there’s now a more accessible option — an AI personal growth coach. A short 4–6 minute session can give you: - your weakest link - a clear explanation of how it shows up at work - a 3-day action plan so you can start immediately Take ownership of your growth. Start today. The biggest risk is not taking any risk at all.
